CES 2024: Volkswagen Integrates ChatGPT AI Into Its Vehicle

Las Vegas had a big tech event recently, and car companies were showing off their new stuff. Volkswagen is adding a smart feature called ChatGPT AI to their cars, which is like having a helpful buddy who can answer questions and read information to you while you’re driving.

This ChatGPT AI will be in a bunch of Volkswagen’s new cars, from the sporty ID series to the roomy Tiguan and Passat, and even the popular Golf. It’s pretty cool because it does more than just talk; it can also help control the car’s screens, find directions, and change the air to make it warmer or cooler.

Starting it up is super easy. You don’t need to set up anything special. Just say “Hello IDA” or push a button, and it’s ready to help. If it can’t figure something out, it’ll quietly ask a smarter AI for help, without you needing to worry about a thing.

Volkswagen also wants to make sure everything is private. They promise that ChatGPT AI won’t keep any of your information after you’re done asking questions.

Volkswagen’s big boss, Kai Grünitz, says this new feature is part of their plan to make cool technology that everyone can use. Now, even smaller cars will have this smart tech. Volkswagen thinks this is going to change the way we think about what cars can do.
