MG Motor India has introduced a noticeable design upgrade for its popular first-generation Hector SUV, focusing on revised bodywork and updated interiors, without any change to the powertrain. The 2026 MG Hector range now begins at an ex-showroom price of Rs 11.99 lakh, representing a substantial price drop of approximately Rs 2 lakh compared to the outgoing model.
The new Hector Plus (available in 6 and 7-seater configurations) also sees its entry price reduced by over Rs 1.6 lakh, starting at Rs 17.29 lakh (ex-showroom). However, these revised prices apply exclusively to the petrol variants, with the pricing for the diesel variants are kept for announcement early next year.

2026 MG Hector Design & Colors

While the overall silhouette and size remain unchanged, the 2026 Hector features key cosmetic revisions. The signature massive grille retains its size but replaces the previous diamond-shaped pattern for new honeycomb-like one. The design of the lower air dam has also been somewhat revised.
The alloys are new as well, providing a new profile view. The lighting elements, including the split headlamp setup and a connecting LED strip that links the tail-lamps, have been carried over from the pre-facelift.
Two new paint options—Celadon Blue and Pearl White—expand the existing ones, which includes Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and Glaze Red, bringing the total available colour choices to five.
2026 MG Hector Interior Updates

The cabin receives distinct colour treatment depending on the configuration. The five-seater Hector adopts a dual-tone Ice Grey interior theme, while the 6/7-seat Hector Plus is finished with a more premium dual-tone tan cabin.
A technological update comes in the form of a revised portrait 14-inch touchscreen infotainment. This display now comes with MG’s iSwipe touch gesture control technology, allowing front occupants to adjust climate settings using a two-finger gesture and audio levels with a three-finger gesture.
Existing features carried over to the 2026 model year include: A 7-inch digital driver’s display
- Front ventilated seats
- 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ambient lighting
- PM 2.5 air filter
- Push button start/stop system
- 360-degree camera system
The engine and gearbox combinations for both the updated Hector and Hector Plus remain mechanically the same as their predecessors.
The petrol variants are powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 143hp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options for this motor include either a 6-speed manual transmission or a smooth CVT automatic.
The diesel engine option is a 2-litre motor generating 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The diesel variant continues to be offered exclusively with a manual gearbox.
